Search Committee, and Parish Profile

The Search Committee has been actively organizing and preparing for the task ahead of us.  As you are aware, we are collecting e-mail addresses and updating the church’s distribution list.  We intend to use electronic communications as much as possible to reduce the costs and to ensure reaching and involving as many parishioners as we can.  If you do not have an email address or do not want us to use your email, we will continue to regular mail to keep in contact.

The members of the Search Committee are: Marlene Alexander, John Austrian, Bob Burns, Chele Fox (vestry), Tom Heller, Mel Ickes, Leanora Kovacs (vestry), Josette Lee, Joy Lee Packert, Kris Perry (chairman) and Susan Rohrmeier.  Contact us directly; the best time may be after services, when you can easily find us as we will be wearing name tags with telescope logos.  You can also send an email to messiahsearch @ gmail.com.  We welcome your input.

Our first step in the search process is to distribute a survey to all parishioners.  The survey will be conducted in mid-February.  It will be available both as an online distribution and through a hardcopy mailing.  Once the survey is completed, the search committee will host a World Cafe.  This is a small group format where we will discuss a topic or question, gather all comments and inputs while enjoying some food and fellowship.  Dates will be posted later.

After these activities, we will work to produce a new and updated version of the Church of the Messiah Parish Profile and a Church Deployment Offer (CDO.)  We anticipate beginning to receive candidate names in April or May.  The entire process will most likely carry into the Fall.

We ask for your participation in these ways:  Please complete the survey, look for the World Cafe dates and talk to the search committee members.
