Registration forms with contact information are on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall.

We’re excited for VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!
Join us for our 2nd Family Night Out at Messiah on Friday, 6/11/10 from 6:30-8:30 PM. This will be another fun evening for families to experience a sneak preview of Vacation Bible School that is planned for July 26th-July 30th. We will have pizza and dessert, watch a cool VBS video and make some crafts to help give us that Eqyptian feeling
There is a $20 per family charge that will cover the cost of the pizza. Any remaining money will go into a “donation fund” to offset the costs associated with Vacation Bible School. There will not be a charge to attend VBS, but we will have a free will offering. As in the past, lunch will be served.
At our last Family Night Out, we made lots of colorful decorations to create our Egyptian setting. The results were fantastic banners, hieroglyphics, palm trees, and a sarcophagus. We even wrapped a few mummies that night!
Come join the fun. If you can make it, please call Laurie Craft, 229-5681, with your name and the number in your family so we’ll know how much pizza to order.
Parish Hall, Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 p.m.
The planning has begun for our community VBS and we’re deciding between two programs. For one program, we will need a minimum of ten ‘E-Z Up” canopies. If you have one we can borrow for the week, please call Laurie Craft at 229-5681 ASAP so we know if we can pursue this exciting option. The tentative date is July 26th - 30th.
The Third Lutheran Church is the host church this summer with Rhinebeck Reformed and Messiah co-hosting. We have had great fun in the past with super kids attending and many, many great teen and adult volunteers helping. In planning your summer, think about being part of VBS…and bring a friend! This is a community Vacation Bible School and all are welcome.
Sunday school registration will be held after each service on Sunday, September 13th. Classes will begin Sunday, September 20th. Volunteers as teachers or teachers’ aides are needed. If you are available to help on a regular or an occasional basis, please speak with Tammy DelGiudice.

The theme is Crocodile dock – Where fearless kids shine god’s light! We will be having fun singing at the Sing & Play Swamp Stomp, playing at Gator Games, learning more about God at Bible Bayou, creating at Crawfish Crafts and going to the Dockside Drive-in and the Firefly Finale. Of course, we will be working on our Kid-to-Kid Mission project where kids help kids in need. We are very excited and hope to have lots of kids share in the fun and fellowship. Lunch will be provided. All are welcome!
Advance registration is requested to help us accurately plan, but it’s not required. We’ve been given a gift, so there is no cost when you register… it’s free! Thank you Rhinebeck Clergy Association. We will have a free will offering in an attempt to help cover our costs. Registration forms are available in the Narthex, at Sunday school, and online here . Once online, you can register a volunteer or participant as well as view volunteer opportunities and watch a sneak preview of what we’ll be doing. It’s that easy!!
Many families take advantage of the Summer Recreation Program located at the Rhinebeck Town Pool. The camp is a full day program. For those families who would like their kids to participate in VBS but have concerns getting them to the park in the afternoon, we will, as a group, walk them to the park each day after VBS. The camp director is aware of our VBS schedule and has agreed to this solution so that the kids can participate in both programs. At registration, please let us know if you would like your child to be walked to the park. There will be a release form for you to sign giving us permission to do so.
The last day of Sunday school classes will be next Sunday, June 7th and the Sunday school picnic will be the following Sunday, June 14th.
This evening sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of NY will be a time for discussion and sharing for teachers, clergy, Christian education committees, parents, and anyone interested in ministry to children and families. Topics will include curriculum, parent involvement, making children’s education a parish priority, etc. Mon., Nov. 3, Zion Church, Wappinger Falls 6:00-8:00 pm. RSVP to Canon Mitchell (212) 316-7433

The Diocese of New York and Trinity Church, Manhattan, are launching an initiative to strengthen public education. Bishop Roskam is co-chairing the planning group. The mission is “to help Episcopal parishes create a youth-led movement to give all public school students and families equal access to a true education.” This movement will give youth an opportunity to share their perspective on what is and isn’t working in the public schools they attend. A gathering is planned for Sat., Oct. 27th at St. Ann’s Church, Bronx, at which the morning’s agenda will be devoted to listening to youth talk about their schools. The planning group hopes that youth, clergy, parents, and educators will attend this gathering. See the flyer on the Parish Hall bulletin board.
