The Church of the Messiah

Come to our annual Stewardship Potluck Luncheon this Sunday after the 10:00 service. Enjoy fellowship, good food, a chance to speak with others about sharing time and talent. And, if you have not already returned your pledge card, you can take this opportunity to drop it in the pledge box in the Parish Hall or you may put it in the collection plate. Please bring a covered dish to share. Pledge cards are available in the Narthex and the Parish Hall. If you are interested in having your pledge contributed electronically, pamphlets are also available. If you already have your pledge contributed electronically, it will continue through 2010 unless you let us know you would like it changed.

This month’s 3rd Thursday will benefit the Dutchess County SPCA. Please drop in to the Parish Hall this Thursday, November 19th between 11:30am and 1:00 pm for a delicious lunch of soup, sandwich, and a homemade dessert. There is a $6.00 donation. Take out is also available—call Su that day at 876-3533 between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. Tell your friends and neighbors. Encourage them to join us.
The SPCA has a need for dry cat food, canned cat food, dry dog food, kitty litter, old clean cloth towels, paper towels, bleach, and clean used blankets. If you wish to donate any of the above, bring them to the luncheon, or drop them off Monday-Thursday morning with Su.
We would love extra help. Stop in any time after 9:30 and stay as long as you would like. We would be especially grateful for help from 12:30 on for the dreaded clean-up. If you would like to bake something for our dessert table, please contact Gina King at 867-1968.

All acolytes and their families are invited to a bowling party at Ro-Lin Lanes followed by a pizza party this afternoon (2:00-5:00). This party is open to all acolytes, past, present, and future, and their families. John Madden has generously offered to cover the cost of the party. Thank you Mr. Madden! The only cost to participants is the rental of bowling shoes and the donation of a non-perishable item for our food pantry.

SAVE THE DATE: Mid Hudson Larreynaga Sister City Dance slated for Nov 7th at 8pm in our parish hall with the live dance music of SOÑANDO. $ 20 per person/$35 per couple. Those who bring a non-perishable food item to donate to our pantry will get a free door prize ticket. Anyone that would like to help by donating a dessert or appetizer or by helping in the kitchen the day of the dance, please see or call Vicki Rivera (845)-876-3779. More details to follow.
